My project two has been challenging to write about because in light of recent events I was tempted to switch communities to the local FSU Rifle Association. I briefly felt passionate about preserving gun rights after seeing how little those on the news knew about guns. For instance the style of gun they wanted to ban, the modern sporting rifle, killed only 510 people in 2014, (the most recently released statistics by the FBI and this statistic covers all long guns, not just rifles) as apposed to distracted driving which killed 3,179 people. I also watched a reporter go out to a range and shoot "full semi automatic" which is laughable to the gun community because there is no "Full semi automatic" and full automatic has been banned since 1986. Eventually I realized although it would be easier to research the Rifle Association and the ongoing gun debate, its been done over and over again so I should focus on the more interesting community of law at FSU.
